Accutane.

Accutane (isotretinoin) is a form of vitamin A. This medicine has been specially designed for the treatment of severe nodular acne when other medications, including antibiotics, did not work well for the patient and the condition of acne did not improve significantly. Avoid using any vitamin supplements while on Accutane that contain vitamin A, as an overdose is possible and it may be dangerous. This drug is available under special iPLEDGE program aimed at making sure every women taking the medicine is safe and her unborn baby (in case of a pregnancy is unharmed). Make sure you tell you health care provider if you have or used to have any of the following conditions: osteoporosis, high cholesterol, heart disease, asthma, depression, eating disorder, or diabetes, as they ay affect the dose you are prescribed. Your health care provider may want to test your blood regularly to make sure you are benefitting from the treatment. A few mild side effects are possible when taking Accutane, and unless they change in intensity there is no need to report them to your health care provider. The following ones are possible: drowsiness, joint pain, itching, rash, dryness of the lips, cracking or peeling skin, back pain, and dizziness.
